Plagiarism and Retraction Policy

Plagiarism and Retraction Policy

The Proceeding of IJC-MaSTEd (International Joint Conference on Mathematics, Science, Technology, and Education) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. All submitted and published articles must comply with the following plagiarism and retraction policies.

Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable and constitutes unethical publishing behavior. Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Direct copying of text, data, or figures without proper citation
  • Paraphrasing substantial parts of another work without acknowledgment
  • Self-plagiarism, including redundant or duplicate publication
  • Data fabrication or falsification

All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software prior to the peer review process. The acceptable similarity index is a maximum of 20%, excluding references and properly cited quotations. Manuscripts that exceed this threshold or show evidence of unethical practices will be rejected or returned to the authors for clarification or correction.

Actions in Case of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected:

  • Before publication: The manuscript will be rejected or returned to the author for revision, depending on the severity.
  • After publication: The article may be subject to correction, retraction, or removal, following an editorial investigation.

Retraction Policy

An article may be retracted if:

  • There is clear evidence of plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification
  • The findings are unreliable due to major errors or unethical research practices
  • The article has been previously published elsewhere without proper disclosure
  • There is a serious breach of publication ethics

Retraction decisions are made by the editorial team after careful review and, when necessary, consultation with reviewers and authors.

Retraction Notice

A retraction notice will be published on the journal website and linked to the retracted article. The notice will clearly state the reason for retraction to ensure transparency and maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

Corrections

Minor errors that do not affect the validity or interpretation of the research may be addressed through a correction or erratum, rather than retraction.

Ethical Compliance

This policy follows the principles and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors, editors, and reviewers are expected to comply with these standards.
